Travelers in Florida have been eagerly awaiting the opening of Brightline’s Orlando Station, which is located at Orlando International Airport. Opening its doors on September 22, 2023, Brightline Trains will be connecting millions of passengers and extending the reach of intercity rail travel throughout the state via the Orlando to Miami route. The station is the first intercity rail station in an airport terminal in the United States, allowing passengers to transfer seamlessly from train to airplane.
The Orlando Station, spans 37,350 square feet in the airport’s newly constructed Terminal C, providing direct access to the airport’s parking deck C, which offers over 350 parking spaces specifically reserved for Brightline passengers. Additionally, a convenient people mover offers a quick five-minute connection to Terminals A and B. Brightline trains operate at top speeds of 125 miles per hour, with travel times of three hours between Orlando and and Miami.
For travelers eager to purchase tickets, the Orlando ticket sales are now available through Brightline’s app and website. One-way fares start at $79 for Smart, $39 for children, and $149 for Premium. Special Smart fare bundles for families of four are available for under $199 one way.
Brightline currently serves Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach in Florida. The company plans to open a second rail line in Southern California and Nevada to connect Las Vegas and greater Los Angeles.
The train schedule for Orlando to South Florida routes offers 16 daily roundtrips with hourly departures between Miami and Orlando. On weekdays, hourly departures from Orlando to Miami run from 5:00 a.m. until 8:50 p.m., with the first train from Orlando arriving in Miami at 8:30 a.m. Hourly northbound departures from Miami to Orlando run from 6:50 a.m. until 9:45 p.m., with the first train from Miami arriving in Orlando at 10:15 a.m. Similar schedules are offered on weekends.
Brightline has also partnered with Uber to offer integrated rideshare services through the Brightline+ app. Premium guests will receive complimentary Uber rides within a five-mile radius, while Smart guests can add a ride to and from the station for a fee.
The opening of Brightline’s Orlando Station is expected to enhance travel convenience and accessibility for many Floridians. With additional stops in Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, the service is poised to make booking a Florida vacation even more appealing for travelers. Brightline Orlando offers two classes of service: Smart and Premium. Passengers can access trains through escalators or elevators to the first-level platform and board from one of two new track platforms. The station features a host of amenities, including complimentary drinks and snacks in the Premium lounge and train coach, free high-speed Wi-Fi, charging stations, big-screen televisions, and a children’s play area.
